CADagency is delighted to be working with a well-established civil engineering company, specialising in project management, design, civil engineering, demolition, and hard landscaping for premium developments. With a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes, they have been operating since 2016 and have a can-do attitude towards completing both small and large-scale projects. Due to continued success, they are now seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join their team in Woodham.
As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing pricing drawings, preliminary designs, and construction drawings, with a focus on domestic projects ranging from £100k to £2.5m. You will also work closely with house manufacturers, quantity surveyors, and clients to ensure designs are accurately represented. In addition to producing technical drawings, you will also contribute to 3D modelling for quote presentations and assist the site team with any drawing-related queries.
- Produce pricing, preliminary, and construction drawings, with familiarity in reinforcement, concrete works, drainage, and setting out.
- Liaise with house manufacturers, QS, and clients to ensure alignment of drawings with project requirements.
- Use 3D modelling to assist in quote presentations to clients or stakeholders.
- Ensure all updated drawings are downloaded and saved from relevant parties.
- Incorporate and circulate any changes to the design.
- Establish quantities for purchasing and assist the site team with any drawing-related queries.
- Flag any changes to the site team and log weekly workload updates for team meetings.
- Carry out site visits as required and support with any drawing adjustments or queries.
- Gain experience (or apply existing knowledge) in setting out using LEICA equipment.
Key Skills
- Experience with ArchiCAD is required; knowledge of AutoCAD or Civils is also important.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience in 3D modelling is beneficial but not essential.
- Familiarity with landscape design is a plus.
- At least 5 years of UK-based experience in a similar CAD Technician role.
You will be dynamic, highly organised, and have a strong attention to detail. You will be able to juggle tasks and prioritise effectively, with a methodical and thorough approach to work. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential, as is a personable, team-oriented attitude.
This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary of £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, based on experience. The role is office-based, with working hours from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. The company offers a supportive, fast-paced environment with opportunities to develop and contribute to high-profile civil engineering projects.
