CADagency is delighted to be working with a long-established manufacturer of stainless steel building products. Based in Sheffield, they design and supply a wide range of corrosion-resistant fixings, supports, reinforcement and bespoke metalwork for the construction sector. Their reputation is built on innovative design, quality manufacturing and close collaboration with architects, engineers and contractors.
We are assisting them in recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer to support their sales team and provide customers with specialist technical advice on the use of their products.
You will be responsible for responding to technical enquiries, offering solutions using standard, adapted and bespoke products. The role will involve reviewing architects’ and engineers’ drawings, bills of quantities and other customer documentation to identify requirements, liaising directly with clients and their design teams to clarify details, and carrying out technical designs to determine correct products and sizes. You will be expected to communicate mark-ups, assumptions and design details clearly to the customer, working closely with the sales team to support accurate quotations.
The position also involves identifying opportunities for new product development and improving existing systems to meet emerging requirements. There will be occasions where you will attend site visits or accompany members of the sales team to client meetings to ensure solutions are properly understood and implemented.

- Previous experience in a construction-related design environment
- Strong understanding of UK construction methods and details
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Organised and methodical approach to problem solving

- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills, with a proactive and positive attitude
This role would particularly suit an architectural or structural technician or a technical estimator, looking to broaden their experience in a more customer-focused environment.
