CADagency is delighted to be working with a growing manufacturer of specialist roofing systems based in Royston. With a strong reputation for technical innovation and close collaboration with the construction and solar sectors, our client is now recruiting for a Design Engineer to support the next phase of their expansion.
This role will suit someone with architectural design experience and strong 3D modelling skills, ideally using Autodesk Inventor. As the business continues to respond to client demand, Revit experience is becoming increasingly essential, previous Revit experience and any associated qualifications will be highly desirable.
As a Design Engineer, you’ll be producing technical drawings, layouts and manufacturing packs using Inventor, with occasional use of AutoCAD for legacy drawing requirements. You’ll interrogate 3D models to extract relevant information, create approval drawings and develop fully resolved manufacturing documentation. The role includes modelling bespoke and standard components, producing installation drawings, generating technical datasheets and supporting the upload of design documentation to client portals.
You’ll be part of a close-knit team and play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered accurately and efficiently, working across internal departments and directly with clients to meet architectural specifications.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD software)
- Revit proficiency or exposure, preferably with a qualification or formal training
- Background in architectural design or construction detailing, rather than product design
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (especially for architectural workflows)
- High attention to detail with strong mechanical and spatial reasoning
- Understanding of UK construction practices and technical design processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- An engineering or architectural qualification is desirable
- Own vehicle and ability to commute to the Royston office
