CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist bespoke joinery manufacturer based in Leeds. Our client designs and manufactures custom-made joinery, shopfittings and commercial furniture for a wide range of commercial interiors, with projects including office, retail, hospitality and reception environments. Due to continued demand, they are looking to recruit an experienced CAD Designer with strong SolidWorks and bespoke joinery experience.
As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for taking architect’s drawings and client design information and developing them into accurate 3D models, client approval drawings and detailed manufacturing information. You will work closely with the sales and production teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable and suitable for manufacture, with a focus on precision, quality and efficient production.
The role will involve producing SolidWorks models and technical drawings for bespoke joinery and commercial furniture, preparing information for manufacturing, machine programming and cut lists, and ensuring all designs are aligned with client requirements and workshop capabilities. You will also review drawings, amend designs where required and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be working on bespoke joinery projects where every item can vary, so a strong understanding of joinery construction, materials, hardware and manufacturing processes is essential. This role will suit someone who is comfortable working from architect’s drawings, can interpret design intent and can convert concepts into fully detailed, production-ready information.
You should have:
- Experience in bespoke joinery design
- Strong SolidWorks experience, including 3D modelling and technical drawing production
- The ability to work from architect’s drawings and prepare client approval drawings
- Experience preparing manufacturing information, machine programming files, cut lists and production drawings
A good understanding of bespoke joinery manufacturing is essential for this role. You should also have strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to work closely with internal teams to solve design and manufacturing challenges.
Benefits include company pension, free parking, on-site parking and profit sharing.
