HVAC CAD Technician

Job Location: Liverpool
Minimum Salary: £30000
Maximum Salary: £40000
Software: AutoCAD 2D
County: Merseyside
CADagency Reference: DT951
Job Category: Building Services

CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist renewable energy business based in Liverpool. Our client designs, installs and maintains low-carbon heating systems for agricultural, commercial and public sector projects across the UK. Due to continued workload, they are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to support their engineering and project teams.

As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing clear and accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD LT. Most projects involve mechanical plant rooms, heating systems and associated equipment layouts, with limited electrical drawing work mainly covering panel locations.

You will prepare drawings from technical information provided by engineers, suppliers and clients, updating layouts as projects develop and ensuring documentation is accurate and properly maintained. Projects range from relatively straightforward agricultural installations through to more detailed work within sectors such as water treatment.

Previous 3D CAD experience would be useful. As part of a small business, you will also support the wider project process by gathering technical information, preparing documentation and liaising with colleagues, suppliers and clients where required.

  • Previous experience using AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings
  • Experience within Building Services, HVAC, mechanical services or a related sector
  • An understanding of plant rooms, mechanical equipment or pipework layouts
  • Strong attention to detail and good document control skills
  • The ability to interpret technical information and produce practical drawings
  • Good communication skills and the flexibility to support wider project documentation
  • 3D CAD experience would be useful but is not essential

The role is mainly office-based in Liverpool, with some home working available once established.

Salary is £30,000 to £40,000 depending on experience, with flexibility to consider a higher salary for someone with strong relevant industry experience.
