CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist engineering business based in Liverpool. Our client works predominantly within the biogas sector, delivering projects ranging from medium-scale agricultural biogas plants through to large industrial installations within the municipal, waste and water sectors. Due to continued workload, they are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to support their engineering and project teams.
As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing clear and accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD LT. You will work closely with the engineering team to design plant rooms and modular equipment including packaged boiler plant, gas chilling and cleaning equipment and heat networks.
Most of the work involves mechanical plant room layouts, equipment positioning, pipework arrangements and associated installation drawings. There is also some limited electrical drawing work, mainly showing panel locations and related equipment.
Projects vary in complexity. Agricultural projects may involve developing practical layouts from relatively limited initial information, while larger industrial projects within the water and waste sectors will require more detailed coordination and technical documentation. More complex projects requiring detailed 3D modelling are generally outsourced, although previous 3D CAD experience would be useful.
You will prepare and update drawings from information provided by engineers, suppliers and clients, ensuring documentation remains accurate as projects develop. As part of a small business, you will also gather technical information, maintain project documentation and support the wider engineering and project delivery process.
The ideal person will have:
- Previous experience using AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings
- Experience within Building Services, HVAC, mechanical services, process engineering or a related sector
- An understanding of plant rooms, mechanical equipment, pipework or heat networks
- The ability to interpret technical information and produce practical installation drawings
- Strong attention to detail and good document control skills
- Good communication skills and the flexibility to support wider project documentation
- 3D CAD experience would be useful but is not essential
The role is mainly office-based in Liverpool, with some home working available once established.
