CADagency is delighted to be working with a structural waterproofing design and installation company based in Heanor. Our client specialises in creating robust waterproofing solutions for the construction sector and, due to continued project demand, they are now looking to recruit a Construction CAD Technician to join their design team.
As a Construction CAD Technician, you will support both the technical sales and marketing departments by producing accurate, to-scale 2D and isometric drawings. Working from architect and designer input, you will be responsible for generating new drawings, modifying existing ones and interpreting technical details to calculate material quantities. A key part of the role will be maintaining drawing records and ensuring that the data you produce is clear, reliable and up to date.
The role is office based, and you will be working closely with internal teams to communicate technical concepts clearly and efficiently. Strong knowledge of construction principles and the ability to read and create technical drawings are essential. You will be using AutoCAD for day-to-day work, and while experience with Revit and BIM processes is advantageous, full training can be provided.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills and be confident working independently as well as part of a wider team. Freehand sketching ability would be beneficial, particularly for early-stage concept development or clarifying details internally.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in producing 2D and isometric technical drawings
- Understanding of construction principles and the ability to interpret technical documentation
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and update project drawing records
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Interest in or experience with Revit and BIM workflows (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
- Freehand drawing ability is a bonus, though not essential
