CADagency is delighted to be working with an established construction specialist that delivers complex, high-value projects across technical and commercial environments. Our client has been operating for more than 40 years and works on technically demanding projects where detailed design, coordination and buildability are critical. Due to continued workload, they are looking to recruit an Architectural Technologist to join their Manchester team.
As an Architectural Technologist, you will be responsible for producing coordinated design information including drawings, schedules, technical submittals and supporting documentation using BIM software. You will work closely with client design teams, internal construction teams and other project stakeholders to develop design packages through to construction and handover.
The role will involve generating and managing drawing and document outputs using Revit and AutoCAD, alongside coordinating mechanical, electrical and process services using Navisworks. You will produce technical submittals and schedules, select appropriate products and materials and develop technical details considering interfaces with surrounding components and building systems.
You will also manage the issue and receipt of design information, raise and respond to design-stage RFIs and technical queries and ensure work is produced in accordance with internal design procedures, Building Regulations and relevant design standards. The position requires someone who can understand the practical construction implications of their designs and work effectively with both design and site-based teams.
Key skills and experience include:
- Degree in Architectural Technology or a comparable qualification
- Previous architectural or technical design experience within the construction industry
- Strong Autodesk Revit experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Experience producing detailed technical drawings and coordinated BIM information
- Understanding of Building Regulations and relevant design standards
- Technical detailing and material specification experience
- Experience coordinating architectural designs with MEP services
- Ability to manage technical information, RFIs, schedules and design documentation
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
