CADagency is delighted to be working with an established, family-run residential developer based just outside Lincoln. Our client designs and builds new homes across Lincolnshire and is looking for an experienced Architectural Technician to join their design team. You will work within a friendly, experienced office with support for ongoing training and professional development.
As an Architectural Technician, you will be responsible for preparing planning and construction drawings for residential developments, supporting projects from initial feasibility through to site delivery. You will produce planning drawings, assist with site layouts and prepare supporting documents, including Design and Access Statements, for planning applications.
You will also prepare drawings and supporting information for Building Regulations approval. Your work will include setting-out drawings, house type working drawings, external works, electrical layouts and conveyancing plans. You will revise layouts and house type drawings as required, ensuring updated information is issued accurately to the site construction team.
Working closely with the design and technical team and other internal departments, you will help coordinate information issued to site and assist with the preparation of construction and site manuals. You will also support the development of a Revit library containing construction details and drawings.
For this role, you will need relevant architectural drawing experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and a good understanding of Building Regulations and NHBC Standards. Revit experience would be advantageous, particularly for producing construction drawings and 3D house type models, although it is not essential. Experience producing 3D visualisations using SketchUp or similar software would also be useful.
You will need clear written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Our client is looking for someone who is willing to learn, adapt and contribute across a range of design tasks. A driving licence is required. An HNC in construction or a related subject is desirable, while a relevant degree would be advantageous. Neither is essential.
