Interior Design Recruitment
CADagency specialises in recruiting CAD and design professionals for the interior design sector. We support interior design studios, workplace specialists, fit out contractors and multidisciplinary practices across the UK, supplying designers who balance creative intent with technical delivery.
Interior design roles often sit at the intersection of concept, coordination and delivery. We work closely with clients to understand project type, client expectation and how design teams operate in practice, ensuring candidates are aligned on both creativity and technical capability.
Our experience spans commercial workplace, hospitality, retail and high-end residential interiors.
Roles we recruit for within interior design
We regularly recruit across a range of interior design roles, including:
Interior Designers
Responsible for concept development, layouts, finishes and client-facing design work.
Intermediate and Senior Interior Designers
Designers overseeing detailed design development, coordination and delivery across projects.
Space Planners and Workplace Designers
Specialists focused on layouts, occupancy strategies and functional design.
FF&E Designers and Specialists
Professionals managing furniture, finishes and equipment specifications for high-spec interiors.
Most candidates working within interior design roles use a combination of AutoCAD and SketchUp, with Revit increasingly used in commercial and workplace-led environments.
Interior design market trends
The interior design market continues to evolve alongside changes in how spaces are used.
Demand remains strong for designers who can create flexible, multi-functional interiors and translate concepts into coordinated, buildable designs. This is particularly evident in workplace and hospitality environments.
Hybrid working has influenced interior design briefs, increasing demand for space planners and designers with strong layout and ergonomic expertise. However, interior design roles remain more studio-based than many other CAD sectors due to collaboration and client engagement requirements.
There is also growing emphasis on designers who understand materials, finishes and buildability, rather than purely visual concepts.
2026 salary insight: interior design roles
Based on Interior Design sector respondents in the CADagency 2026 Salary Survey, average UK salaries sit as follows:
Junior Interior Designers: £29,100
Intermediate Interior Designers: £36,700
Senior Interior Designers: £45,300
Associate Interior Designers: £53,600
Salary progression within interior design is closely linked to responsibility, client exposure and project complexity rather than job title alone.
London and the South East continue to pay the highest salaries overall, particularly at senior and associate level. However, experienced interior designers in regional hubs are increasingly achieving comparable pay where responsibility and autonomy are higher.
Software usage within interior design
AutoCAD remains the most commonly used platform across the interior design sector, particularly for drawing production and coordination.
However, software capability has a clear impact on salary.
Interior designers using Revit reported an average salary of £42,800
Interior designers not using Revit reported an average salary of £37,900
Revit users are most commonly found in commercial workplace and large-scale hospitality projects, while SketchUp continues to dominate at concept and presentation stage across all interior sectors.
