CADagency is delighted to be working with a well-established architectural practice that is looking to expand its specialist education team following a number of recent project wins. Our client delivers projects across a range of sectors, with a particularly strong track record in primary, secondary, further and higher education. They are now looking to recruit a Senior Architectural Technologist for their Altrincham studio.

As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of drawings, designs, specifications and schedules throughout the design and construction process. You will play a key role in the delivery of education projects, managing technical information and ensuring designs meet statutory, programme and quality requirements.

The role will involve managing projects through all RIBA stages, coordinating with internal design teams, consultants and other project stakeholders. You will also have regular client contact, including leading meetings and presentations, so you will need to be comfortable taking ownership of projects and making technical decisions.

You will be joining an established education team and will be expected to contribute from an early stage, particularly on primary and secondary school projects.

Key skills

  • Minimum five years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong portfolio of education sector projects
  • Excellent Revit and AutoCAD skills
  • Proven project running experience
  • Experience managing projects through all RIBA stages
  • Strong understanding of statutory design requirements
  • Confident client-facing communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams
  • Knowledge of Department for Education working practices would be advantageous
  • Previous primary and secondary school design experience would be advantageous
