CADagency is delighted to be working with a Lichfield based, specialist design and build company focused on exhibitions and high-impact retail environments. With a strong track record of delivering bespoke, eye-catching installations across the UK and internationally, our client is now looking to recruit a CAD Designer to join their growing team.
As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed working drawings and creative design solutions, primarily for exhibitions but also for shopfitting projects within major airports. Working closely with project managers and creative teams, you’ll translate conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings that are suitable for manufacture and installation.
You’ll be using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to produce both 3D models and 2D layouts. Experience with 2D drawing and detailing will be highly beneficial, particularly for developing layout plans and workshop documentation. The role will require both technical accuracy and creative flair, balancing innovative concepts with the practical constraints of on-site fabrication and build programmes.
- Create working drawings and detailed technical packs for exhibitions and retail fit-outs
- Translate conceptual and creative designs into buildable 2D and 3D drawings
- Use SolidWorks for 3D modelling and AutoCAD for layout plans and technical detailing
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure drawings meet both creative intent and production requirements
- Support the development of bespoke furniture, display systems and structural elements
Key Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Experience producing both creative and technical drawings for exhibitions, shopfitting or interiors
- Understanding of joinery, retail fixtures or modular build methods is advantageous
- Ability to work to fast-paced deadlines and adapt to changing project needs
- A background in exhibition design, product design or retail environments would be ideal
