CADagency is delighted to be working with a well-established manufacturer of retail and shopfitting solutions based in Stoke-on-Trent. Our client delivers bespoke products for commercial environments and is now looking to recruit a Product Designer to join the team. This is a strong opportunity for someone with solid SolidWorks skills who enjoys developing concepts through detailed design, prototype development and into pre-production.
As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed 3D models and technical drawings for bespoke product and shopfitting solutions, ensuring designs are commercially viable and aligned with manufacturing capabilities. You will support the development of concepts into workable prototypes and assist through the pre-production stage, helping to refine designs and improve efficiency. The role will also involve broader project support, working alongside the Project Manager on client meeting preparation, costings, ERP product coding and Bills of Materials.
Day to day, you will create and amend drawings, support prototype and product development activity, assist with costing exercises in Excel and help maintain accurate product information within the ERP system. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure designs are practical to manufacture, contribute to continuous improvement activity and support the wider goals of the business.
You should have:
- Strong SolidWorks experience within a product design or manufacturing environment
- Previous sheet metal design experience
- The ability to produce detailed technical drawings and support prototype to production processes
- Good communication skills and the ability to support project, costing and BOM-related tasks
