CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist packaging solutions provider based in Leeds supporting businesses across the UK with transit packaging, automation and supply chain optimisation. They work with customers across sectors including manufacturing, food and drink, ecommerce and retail fulfilment. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Packaging CAD Designer to support their commercial and technical teams.
The role sits within the business development team and focuses on designing and developing cardboard packaging solutions that support sales opportunities and deliver value for customers. You will act as the in-house specialist for cardboard packaging, working closely with sales, suppliers and customers to create practical and cost-effective packaging designs. This will involve producing carton designs, reviewing specifications and identifying opportunities to improve packaging performance while reducing cost.
The position will involve designing bespoke cardboard packaging solutions, supporting quotation and tender activity, and ensuring proposals are both technically sound and commercially competitive. You will work with suppliers to develop concepts and refine specifications, as well as occasionally visiting customer sites to better understand packaging requirements. A strong understanding of cardboard grades, carton construction and packaging design will be important, along with the ability to respond quickly to design requests and support the sales team in securing new business.
Key requirements:
- Experience designing cardboard packaging, carton structures or corrugated packaging solutions
- Strong knowledge of cardboard grades, packaging design and manufacturing considerations
- Experience using CAD software for packaging design
- Ability to work closely with sales teams, suppliers and customers to develop commercially viable solutions
