CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist manufacturing company operating within the events and commercial interiors sector. The business designs and produces bespoke structures and high-quality fabricated components for installations across the UK and overseas. We are assisting them in recruiting a Manufacturing CAD Technician to join their production-led team in Birmingham. This is a full-time, office-based role working closely with both technical and workshop staff.
The role focuses on converting client drawings into accurate manufacturing documentation for CNC production. You will prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings, develop CNC-ready manufacturing files and upload them directly to the CNC system. The work is varied and fast paced, supporting the fabrication of bespoke structural and interior components used across a wide range of projects.
Day to day you will interpret drawings or design briefs, prepare component-level manufacturing drawings, generate cutting and nesting files, and ensure all data is ready for production. You will work closely with the workshop team to confirm details, maintain consistency in file output and support the smooth handover of information into fabrication.
Key Requirements
- Strong AutoCAD skills with experience producing manufacturing drawings
- Confident preparing CNC-ready cutting and nesting files
- Understanding of manufacturing, joinery or fabrication workflows
- High attention to detail with ability to work to production schedules
