- Hydrotherapy Pool and Plant room – Design and Install. (key focus area)
Due to on-going company growth we are assisting them in recruiting for a Head of Design in order to support the Operations Team and the drive the quality & standard of the design work being produced. You will report to the Head of Operations and manage both a small in house team of Design Technicians and external support partners. In the role, you will be responsible for the creation of all the design work for all projects and enquiries from the sales and project delivery teams throughout the business.
You will ideally be an experienced Senior CAD Technician looking to take a significant step into a management role, leading the whole of the design element. Equally as an existing Design Manager looking for new challenges, or a role that provides conditions and a flexible environment with the latitude to innovate and implement changes.
On a daily basis the role will see you manage the process/ department throughout the design lifecycle. You will support other designers and external parties to ensure all design work is done to the correct standard. This will involve ensuring work is within both time and commercial restraints and produce solutions which meet the Scope of Work and requirements. You will need to thoroughly appraise received project documentation to identify risk, opportunity, insufficient information, inadequate or incorrect design and compliance.
Our client has over 150 projects of various sizes on the go at a time so you will be required to manage and prioritize yours and your teams time across the different projects to ensure deadlines are met.
Your daily tasks will include attending, and where requested, lead design meetings along with the sales representatives or project managers. Uploading drawings onto contractors’ databases such as 4P ensuring the documents are properly titled to the contractors standards. All the design work should be carried out in accordance with the relevant building regulations.
You will need to implement the company Integrated Management System processes and procedures. Attend the weekly project management meeting and discuss workloads, deadlines and issues with the project managers.
For software, you will be skilled with AutoCAD and Revit and have the ability to produce required technical documents. You will be working to BIM Level 2 and you will need experience with BIM to ensure the company remains compliant with procedure.
- Experience of working in CDE format (BIM 360 – 4P)
- Good understanding of the CDM Regs 2015 and BIM Standards
