CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist provider of fire protection solutions. Based in Oldham they deliver high-quality fire safety systems to the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Due to on-going high demand we are assisting them in recruiting for a Project Engineer with both AutoCAD and Project Management skills. You will be joining a small and robust team and have the opportunity to work on projects from start to finish. You will oversea the planning, coordination, and execution of fire sprinkler system projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
You role will see you starting each project working closely with clients, architects and engineers to understand a project scope and client requirements. You will then work with Architects layouts and create overlays with the companies fire systems and “plant rooms”. You will be working with AutoCAD 2D. Each project must comply with relevant standards and codes and you will need to identify potential issues and propose solutions.
A major aspect to the role will be Project Management. You will need to lead and manage fire sprinkler system projects from conception to completion, including design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning. You will need to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery within budgetary constraints.
This will also involve resource allocation. You will need to coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to allocate resources effectively, including labour, equipment, and materials.
Once a project is being delivered, Quality Assurance, implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure that fire sprinkler system installations meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations will be required. To achieve this, you will need to conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor workmanship, identify deficiencies, and address non-conformities promptly.
As this is a client facing role, client communication is paramount. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates, addressing inquiries, and managing expectations. You will need to foster positive client relationships through clear and effective communication, transparency, and responsiveness to client needs.
To be considered for this role you will need some experience in fire sprinkler system design, installation, and project management. You will need to be proficient in AutoCAD or other CAD software for fire sprinkler system design.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., BS EN 12845, BS 9251, LPC Rules for Automatic Sprinkler Installations, FM Global, NFPA) would be highly advantageous.
