CADagency is delighted to be working with a growing and well-established fire and security solutions provider operating across the commercial and public sector, based in Leeds. Due to continued growth and an increase in project size and complexity, we are assisting them in recruiting a Fire Systems CAD Technician to join their office-based technical team.
This role has been created to support both the engineering and sales functions by taking ownership of project drawings once schemes move beyond the tender stage. You will work primarily from client and contractor issued DWG drawings, producing clear, accurate and well-structured CAD drawings for fire and life safety systems. While engineers will continue to carry out system design, calculations and initial schematic layouts, this role focuses on developing those concepts into coordinated project drawings.
The position will involve producing red line drawings, zone drawings and fully detailed layouts, ensuring all drawings are issued to a consistent standard and are suitable for construction and installation. You will be working increasingly on larger and more complex projects, making use of XREFs and live drawings, and supporting the business as it gradually moves towards more BIM-aligned workflows.
- Strong AutoCAD experience, ideally within fire, security, M&E or building services environments
- Confident working from client supplied DWG drawings and architectural floor plans
- Experience producing red line drawings, zone drawings and coordinated layouts
- Comfortable working with XREFs and multi-layered drawings
- Organised, methodical and able to support multiple projects simultaneously
