CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist design and fabrication studio delivering immersive themed environments across a wide range of sectors. We are assisting them in recruiting a Creative Designer to join their team at their studio in the Uttoxeter area. This is a full-time, office-based role with occasional time in the workshop when supporting production.
The position focuses on developing conceptual and technical design solutions from early project briefs through to production-ready outputs. You will work closely with designers, engineers and project managers to transform ideas into detailed CAD models and manufacturing documentation. The role suits someone comfortable moving between digital tools and hands-on processes, including CNC machinery, 3D printing and robotic equipment.
Day-to-day work will involve creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models, programming CNC machines, supporting prototyping using 3D printers and robotic tools, preparing cost estimates and bills of quantities, and contributing to design development across a varied project pipeline. You will be expected to work accurately, contribute ideas and ensure all outputs meet quality, safety and performance standards.
Key requirements
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software such as Fusion or Inventor
- Background in conceptual and technical design within a design or manufacturing environment
- Experience programming or operating CNC machinery
- Familiarity with 3D printers and robotic tools for prototyping
- Ability to prepare cost estimates and bills of quantities
- Good problem-solving ability with attention to detail
- Confident communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
