The company delivers M&E design and energy consultancy across a wide range of commercial projects including student accommodation, care homes, car showrooms, substations, hotels and large residential developments. With over 30 years’ experience, they have built a reputation for combining technical excellence with practical solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
As a Building Services Design Engineer you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the design and delivery of building services projects. Day-to-day you’ll be producing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, undertaking building services calculations and contributing to high-level technical reviews. You’ll be expected to take ownership of engineering solutions across projects, ensure design quality and consistency, and liaise with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships. Supporting the wider team, you’ll also share knowledge, mentor junior staff where appropriate and ensure project QA processes are followed.
This will be a full-time, office-based role with option of 1 nominated day working from home per week.
You should bring a solid understanding of AutoCAD (2D) as the bulk of projects are still delivered this way, with additional experience in Revit/BIM an advantage. Knowledge of packages such as Hevacomp/Amtech, Dialux/Relux or EDSL TAS would be beneficial. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects are essential.
Key Requirements
- Degree, HND or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience of AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience desirable
- Familiarity with building services calculation packages advantageous
- Ability to manage design workload, maintain quality standards and liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
