CADagency is delighted to be working with a long-established building surveying and design consultancy based in Oxford. With a strong focus on the education, commercial, hospitality and retail sectors, our client works with notable institutions including the University of Oxford and multiple local councils.

Due to continued growth and internal restructuring, we are helping them recruit for an experienced Architect to join their Oxford team. You will work closely with the architectural and surveying departments, overseeing design output while maintaining close links with the architectural team in their London office.

This is a senior technical role requiring strong design and compliance knowledge across all RIBA Stages. You will manage project delivery from feasibility through to construction, ensuring that architectural quality and building regulation compliance is maintained throughout. You will be mentoring more junior members of the team and reviewing drawing packages for accuracy and consistency.

As part of the role, you’ll be engaging directly with clients, consultants and contractors, leading design discussions and presenting feasibility and technical proposals to a range of stakeholders. You will also contribute to internal best practice development and work collaboratively across both the Oxford and London offices.

You’ll be responsible for producing and overseeing detailed architectural drawings, plans and specifications across all RIBA stages using Revit and AutoCAD. Your work will include preparing planning applications, Building Regulations packages, technical design details and presentation visuals. You’ll take the lead on compliance matters under the Building Safety Act, and help guide projects through to completion. Site visits and surveys will be part of your routine, supporting practical coordination and resolving technical issues as they arise.

Key Skills and Experience

  • A recognised architectural qualification with a minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong Revit skills (Revit used daily, AutoCAD occasionally)
  • Experience across all RIBA stages, particularly technical and construction phases
  • Confidence acting as a designer under the Building Safety Act, including coordination of BR PD obligations
  • Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and sustainability standards
  • Competence with NBS specifications and product/material procurement
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Previous experience working on educational or public sector schemes would be advantageous
