Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist design and engineering business based in Halifax. The company specialises in providing a bespoke, turnkey service from concept design through to manufacture and installation. The products can range from one-off joinery pieces to retail displays and exhibition stands.
Due to on going high demand the company is looking to take on a Technical SolidWorks Designer with relevant experience in the manufacturing or engineering sector.
There will be an element of Project Management with the role and you will be expected to communicate clearly with the manufacturing team as well as clients and other members of the design team.
You will be creating technical and production drawings for manufacturing purposes and visuals for sign off.
Your daily activities will include:
- Utilising the existing software, produce 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, cutting lists, CNC programs and visuals in accordance with client requirements and briefs.
- Ensure feasibility and propose design solutions to meet project goals
- Research materials as they relate to project needs and specify appropriate solutions
- Address design related queries as they arise in the production process
- Work effectively in a busy and time critical environment
- Utilise Solidworks to create 3D models and manufacturing drawings
- Utilise Visualize to create rendered visuals
- Utilise SWood software to create, BOMs, cutting lists, CNC nesting and CNC cutting programs (training can be provided on SWood)
