Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working the UKs leading manufacturer and supplier of commercial furniture and structures who specialise in the hospitality and leisure industry. We are assisting them in recruiting a Technical Designer to work within their design team at their offices based in Reading.

For this role your main duties will include creating clear part assembly and installation drawings, layouts, and instructions for both internal and external use. You will be updating drawings for existing products and create product technical specification documentation as needed. You will also be working on the creation of CNC programming for 3 Axis router to improve the manufacturing process.

As part of this role there will be administrative duties which will include BOM’s, raising PO’s, and monitoring confirmed orders and manufacturing schedules, to ensure non-stock/bespoke components are drawn, sourced, and ordered ahead of production. Occasional travel to site for survey purposes will be required therefore a driving licence is required for this role.

A good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes is required as part of this role. You will need previous working experience in an industrial setting using Inventor for 3D design and AutoCAD for the 2D design side of things. You will ideally have a degree in product design or have relatable experience in such a field. Familiarity with BS EN 1176 Children’s Playground Equipment safety standards is desirable (training will be given).
