Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a design & build company specialising in retail, event and exhibition. They handle the full project lifecycle from product innovation and project management, through to manufacture and installation.
Due to a growing workload they are looking to take on a SolidWorks Design Engineer with experience in the retail, exhibition or events sectors. You will be joining an existing design team and report directly to the Head of New Product Development. The role will primarily involve you detailing shop drawings relating to pre-fabricated display projects in the museum/heritage sector, as well as assembly and production drawings in the retail and exhibition sector, using and adapting the companies own products to fit bespoke customer requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce technical drawings in line with customer specifications
- Contribute to large scale projects as part of a team whilst also working individually on smaller projects
- Deliver on project briefs, ensuring that agreed deadlines are achieved
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders across the business with regards to ongoing work; and be commercially aware and identify cost saving opportunities where appropriate
For this role, you will ideally have:
- Degree level qualification in Product Design or Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proficient in the use of SolidWorks (2D & 3D)
- Good understanding of design for manufacture principles and common manufacturing processes
- Experience in design with Metal / Sheet materials
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Visualisation skills
