Our client has a small team but having been establish just two years ago has already outgrown two workshops and prioritised staff and career opportunities within the business. They have an excellent track records to staff retainment and training opportunities. With onsite manufacturing facilities, you will be working closely with architects and main contractors to provide designs for residential and commercial projects around London. As part of the role you will also visit clients sites to survey and appreciate the scope of a project.

For this role, you will be working from creating 3D models for visualisation purposes to enable the sales process through to detailed technical joinery drawings for manufacture. You will work closely with the Managing Director, Joinery CAD Manager and Workshop Manager and shop floor staff to ensure projects are within scope and budgets.

You will need previous experience in a joinery environment using SolidWorks to create technical models for manufacture. You will be involved in the procurement and pricing stages of projects too.

The project usually starts with receiving briefs from clients in the form of drawings, reference images and descriptions. You will then follow up with clients to further define the brief. Once fully understanding a project requirements you will translate briefs into joinery CAD models and present them in 2D, 3D and renders. Once sent to the client you will work from client feedback and make amendments as necessary. This will involve helping clients to solve problems, be they budgetary, aesthetic or functional.

You will then need to liaise with suppliers to ensure correct solutions are specified, liaise with clients to determine material choices, providing samples when required and keep the workshop team informed as designs progress, absorb their input, ensuring joinery can be efficiently constructed and installed. Finally, you will create workshop production drawings and generate cut list and bill of materials for jobs.

This is an exciting opportunity with opportunities to progress within a fast-growing, friendly, team based company and would suit you having project management skills and a collaborative team player.
