Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a shopfitting company specialising in retail shelving and point of sale stands. Due to on-going high demand for their services we are assisting them in recruiting for an additional SolidWorks Designer with some manufacturing design experience. You will be joining a small design team with two other CAD Designers and be required to work from client briefs through to producing workable manufacturing drawings based on specific client requirements.
You will be using SolidWorks to develop functional products, and prepare them for manufacturing. You will work from initial client briefs and send through viable options for approval. Once approval is received you will be required to tender for the project and understand the manufacturing costs and materials required for the project.
You will manage the existing database of products and ensure all models are safely stored and accessible. You will then product Bills of Materials and place them into the companies software.
You will be working closely with the manufacturing team so excellent communication skills are required to ensure high quality control. Once a design has been confirmed you will prepare installation manuals for the site team along with visual explanations of how products are assembled together. You may need to conduct product demonstrations to show the install team or clients how they are assembled. You will be expected from time-to-time to conduct site visits and client meetings in order to fully understand the needs as well store environments.
Working hours
09.00 – 17.00, Monday to Friday
Overtime maybe required dependant on workloads.
