Job description
CADagency are delighted to be working with an office furniture manufacturing company based in Rotherham. They specialise in the design and manufacture of a wide range of furniture including sit/stand desks, storage units, lockers, tables, upholstered privacy screens and acoustic breakout furniture.
Due to on-going high demand, CADagency are assisting in recruiting for an additional SolidWorks Designer to assist with the production and development of products.
You will be joining an existing design team and be working with SolidWorks to develop products and generate 3D
CAD files, technical drawings, assembly visuals and bills of materials for products and parts for the companies product range.
You will see products through from drawing to manufacture, liaising with on-site manufacturing,
production and administrative personnel to answer queries and provide all the required information to facilitate manufacture.
You will work on prototyping new products and product testing and you may be required to visit sites, where appropriate, to assess site conditions, liaise with customers, assist with product installation etc.
Working in the manufacturing sector, an understanding of woodworking CNCs and machinery would be advantageous and experience designing fabricated sheet metal components is advantageous.
You will ideally have previous experience working with the following software
- SolidWorks (required)
- Microsoft Excel (required)
- SWOOD (advantageous)
- 2D CAD package such as AutoCAD or DraftSight (advantageous)
