Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a childrens soft play design and manufacturing company based in Devon. They offer bespoke designs with onsite steel and foam manufacturing capabilities. Their clients include, soft plays, climbing walls, trampoline parks, inflatable parks and interactive assault courses.

Due to ongoing high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting a SolidWorks Designer ideally with previous experience in the manufacturing sector and Weldments. The design team is currently made up of two conceptual designers and this role will see you working off their concept drawings and turning them into manufacturing ready technical drawings,

Each project is bespoke and you will need to be comfortable working from concept to detailed plans and manufacturing drawings for the shop floor and installation teams to work from.

On a daily basis you will be designing or redesigning 3D models, layouts and drawings to produce engineering spec drawings and plans. You will be designing to BS EN 1176 and ASTM F1918. The role will also see you working with the sales and marketing teams to assist in the production of project quotations. For this reason, excellent communication skills are required and the ability to talk to different stakeholders is required.

Once technical drawings are made up, you will need to control the bill of materials which makes up components within each project. You will then work with the manufacturing team & the projects co-ordinator to ensure production is in line with 3D models, layouts and drawings.

For this role, you will need to have good experience with SolidWorks and be able to produce technical drawings.
