Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a manufacturing company located in Braintree. Our client designs and manufactures cast metal and stainless steel products for the commercial, retail and transport sectors. Due to on-going high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting for a SolidWorks Designer to join their existing CAD Design team. For this role you will be creating bespoke product designs based on clients requirements as well as amending and improving their existing product range. There will also be a Project Administration element to the role as you will be expected to work closely with members of the sales and manufacturing teams to ensure projects are executed correctly.

This role will be based at our clients offices in Braintree and you will be expected to carry out various tasks including

  • Creating QA documents for the production department
  • Create manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
  • From time to time you may be required to lift heavy items (up to 25kgs) within a workshop environment for checking tolerances against CAD models
  • Input Sales Orders on ERP Navision System
  • Inputting Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Production Orders and similar on ERP Navision System
  • Designing making drill jigs
  • Completing QA documents and final sign off prior to release to manufacture
  • Attend QA Management Meetings if required
  • Attend and report at production meetings weekly if required
  • Occasionally it may be requested for you to assist in manufacturing

For this role, you will ideally have good experience using SolidWorks to create manufacturing drawings as well as 3D models. Any relevant education in the manufacturing or design sector would be advantageous.
