Job description

Our client is an award winning architectural interior design and development practice that designs and builds some the world’s finest homes. Due to an increase in the number of projects being taken on, they are looking to hire a Senior Interior Architect/Designer for an immediate start.

Working for the Head of Design, you will work on a broad range of projects within the high end residential sector and be client facing, so strong interpersonal skills and fluent English are a must. You must also have strong technical knowledge and demonstrate a good understanding of all aspects of the Interior Design process from concept through to implementation.  You will be working closely with an experienced team of in-house designers, architects, external consultants and contractors, taking the lead on projects and have natural gravitas.

You will require the following skills:

  • Ability to lead interior design projects and manage clients effectively and proactively from initial brief through to completion
  • Advanced conceptual and technical skills to prepare detailed design drawings and schedules
  • Understanding of industry procurement, tender and contract systems
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage project budgets
  • A passion for design and an established network of high end suppliers
  • High quality presentation work and strong communication skills
  • A desire to work as part of a talented and collaborative team

In addition, you will need to satisfy the following requirements:

  • Possess a relevant interior design or interior architecture degree
  • A minimum 5 years relevant and demonstrable post-graduate / qualifying experience within the luxury residential sector
  • You should have a strong, demonstrable background in architectural interior design
  • You should be a passionate, hard working and confident individual who is a team player
  • You should have good freehand skills and be a competent user of AutoCAD. Photoshop and Sketch Up skills also desirable
  • You should have experience in the day to day management of projects and team resources
  • Have a strong portfolio demonstrating your experience and breadth of expertise
  • Knowledge of design trends and innovative design materials and products
  • Ability to undertake site inspections and surveys as required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to coordinate with external professional consultants to integrate requirements and meet overall project objectives
  • Excellent knowledge of luxury residential interior design
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate decision making and problem solving ability
  • Full UK driving licence and the availability to travel
  • Fluency in English
