Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working alongside one of the UK’s most state-of-the-art modular home design and build companies. Our client are building a reputation for imaginative design and build quality, with a growing portfolio of prestigious clients within the residential sector. Due to on-going high demand we are assisting them in recruiting for a Design Director to join their existing and growing design team.

For this role you will be responsible for managing the project from conception through to delivery and will need excellent communication skills to liaise regularly with clients and external consultants. You will have excellent technical skills and a passion to really make a difference in the way our client delivers homes in the affordable housing sector. You will also be managing the growing design team, meeting with construction professionals and clients to discuss feasibility of designs and reviewing local rules and regulations.

You will ideally be a qualified Architect and your daily role will see you ensuring the timely delivery of complete, high quality and cost effective designs for multiple new build housing developments.

Other daily tasks will include:

  • Developing the house-type portfolio, working closely with the Design Team Procure produce architectural detailing
  • Produce homes to Building reg and Manufacturing Specifications
  • Ensure all customers are working with correct information
  • Assist the sales team in producing sales & marketing material
  • Ensure the quality of architectural information provided both internally and externally is of the highest standards.
  • Meeting with clients to discuss project objectives, needs, and budget
  • Preparing and presenting design proposals, including detailed drawings of finished buildings, renovations, or restorations
  • Creating detailed drawings and specifications for architectural projects
  • Specifying the materials needed for construction of projects
  • Working with contractors, surveyors, and building service engineers to create a construction schedule and bring the designs to fruition
  • Supervising construction of buildings to ensure projects meet deadlines, stay on budget, and adhere to the original vision for the design
  • Visiting proposed locations and building sites

You will ideally have the following skills and education

  • Degree or equivalent in an Architectural discipline
  • Architectural practice background (4 Years+)
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of design capability within your portfolio
  • Able to demonstrate high level communication & presentation skills
  • Fully conversant using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Previous experience working on modular buildings
