Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a family owned lighting design and development company based in Tonbridge. Their products are used in the hotel, residential and retail sectors. This includes contract, custom and bespoke products as well as mass manufacture.
Due to on-going high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting for a CAD Designer to support the development and production of bespoke lighting products within their technical team. For this role, you will be working to develop 3D models and 2D production drawings (to BS8888:1) including final specifications, BOMs and costings of new lighting products to ensure safe, high quality products.
You will be involved in projects from product development as well as product improvement. You will be working to continuously improve the product development processes and providing support for following up on quality issues.
This will involved updating the technical drawing database (Autodesk Vault) to ensure accuracy of files and maintain high standards of data integrity.
On a daily basis you will, liaise with production teams throughout the design and production process to evaluate the feasibility of production and assist with finding solutions to design or fabrication issues. Ensure the design process is integrated within the other disciplines of the company – especially Operations, Commercial and Marketing. Help to prepare evaluative costings and support the commercial team in preparing quotations.
This will include, providing technical input to clients by liaising with sales and project management teams.
Finally, you will assist and clarify technical queries from the operational and sales teams and the external supply chain. Work closely with the Contract & Bespoke teams throughout the development of client ideas.
You will be experienced working with SolidWorks or Inventor and have some previous work experience either within the lighting sector or bespoke manufacturing.
