Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a prestigious designers and “in-house” makers of high-end bespoke furniture and architectural joinery. Due to ongoing high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting for a CAD Technician to create technical drawings from site surveys and architectural drawings. You will be working closely with the sales, manufacturing and fitting teams to ensure projects are designed and manufactured as per the clients requirements.

Reporting to the CAD Manager you will start a project by assessing site measurements taken at survey and working with the sales team to understand the project requirements. You will then offer a range of solutions and advise the design team how they can be used. You will then start to create 3D models and technical drawings that will be sent to the manufacturing team.

Communication is key at every level for this role and updating the sales team and manufacturing team is essential to offer excellent customer service. Your drawings will be easy to read and comprehensive for use by external clients such as builders and worktop companies.

There will also be a requirement to order materials in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum where possible.

Finally, you will create full manufacture folder with drawings and accompanying paperwork to enable full manufacture in relation to specification. Create full fitters’ folder with drawings and accompanying paperwork to enable full fitting in a site setting in relation to specification.

Our client mainly works with Cabinet Vision and previous experience using the software would be advantageous. Experience using other 3D technical CAD software is also suitable.

This is a full time role (40 hours per week) based at our clients Glossop site.
