Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a niche provider of product cooling, air conditioning and ventilation systems. Their clients are mostly Blue Chip Food and Drink producers in the UK. The company has a 40 year history of delivering projects and has recently embarked on a 5 year expansion plan to grow and develop the business. Candidates can grow and develop with the business with potential to take leading management roles within the business going forward.

Due to on-going high demand they are current recruiting a HVAC CAD Technician to design of a wide range of variable products and systems covering all facets of HVAC and refrigeration design.

For this role you will be an experienced draughtsman who can handle the following roles;

  • As lead draughtsman you will be responsible for managing the drawing office budget, equipment and work load
  • You will be responsible for one other draughtsman initially
  • You will be operating within an established contract team
  • Submit drawings for customer approval and maintain drawing issues and approval registers
  • Site plans and general arrangement drawings
  • Detailed ductwork and mechanical services drawings
  • Steelwork and sheet metal fabrication drawings
  • Assist engineering team with system design
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and client specifications
  • Carry out detailed site surveys of buildings and plant

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum engineering qualification to HND level
  • Demonstrable experience gained in a similar role
  • Working with latest version of AutoCAD for 2D and CADmep for 3D designs
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Relevant technical design experience including;
    • Ductwork sizing
    • Pipework sizing
    • Steelwork sizing
  • Use of industry drawing standards
  • Work well within a team with minimal supervision
  • A full UK drivers licence as travel to client sites anywhere in the UK will be required
