Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a formwork and scaffolding company. As one of the most well established companies within the space, they manufacturing, sell and rent innovative and complex solutions for infrastructure, construction and civils projects.
Due to on-going high demand, they are looking to recruit an experience CAD Designer with previous work experience in the formwork sector. For this role you will be expected to develop independent solutions to complex engineering projects. You will be able to communicate clearly with other members of the team regarding current projects. You will be working with AutoCAD to product drawings using the companies formwork systems. This will be from proposal stage to finalised working drawings to be used for manufacture and installation.
On a daily basis your tasks will include:
- Provide material lists for quotations to sales/customer and to operations for shipments to the site
- Produce and insure that the drawings indicate the proper use of forming equipment and that the drawings represent safe, economical and efficient designs
- Independently produce formal calculations for customer approval
- Have an interest in developing efficiencies within the Engineering Department and take a proactive approach of seeking responsibilities where opportunities arise
Qualifications
- Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering education
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
- An interest in BIM and/or experience in 3D would be beneficial
- 5 years formwork design experience, preferably within the civil engineering/infrastructure sector
- Experience with designing formwork for Heavy Civil Engineering / Road and Rail applications would be beneficial
- Detailed knowledge of construction methods and competencies in interpreting client drawings and design briefs
- Knowledge of formwork planning and coordination would be advantageous
- Strong frame analysis knowledge would be beneficial
