Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with one of Irelands leading commercial and residential lighting sales and design company. Their products and services can be found on projects such as the Grand Central Hotel, the Grand Opera House, Bullitt Hotel, as well as many more projects in London and overseas.

Due to on-going high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting for a CAD Technician to be based in their Belfast office. For this role, you will be creating and updating drawings using AutoCAD. You will need to have an electrical engineering background and have experience creating electrical schematics.

Your role will see you creating lighting plans in AutoCAD, calculations and visualisations in Dialux or Relux as well as creating Dialux models. You will need to have a high degree of competence with AutoCAD. As well as a thorough understanding of how to read and manipulate architectural drawings.

Other daily tasks

  • Liaising with lighting manufacturers on products and having a good understanding of how the product should be used well.
  • Generating quotations to support the lighting designs.
  • Offer technical support to the sales team and customers on products and projects.
  • Generating lighting calculations on Dialux software.
  • Create project models on SketchUp.
  • Producing basic drawings for bespoke products.
  • Liaising with Architects, M&E consultants and electricians on projects.

Ideally you will have previous experience designing LED technologies, track and profile systems, dimming controls, home automation systems, etc and have a basic understanding of the product design and manufacturing processes.
