Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist cutting forme manufacturer and print finisher based in Northampton with over 30 years experience. Due to a steady increase in work we are assisting them in recruiting for a 2D CAD Technician with a background in manufacturing and Die/Tool making. You will be joining a small team and play a central part of their manufacturing capabilities. Our client prides themselves in having some of the most advanced machinery in the country and operates an advanced operation.
On a daily basis, the role will see you drawing up and converting files from customers to be sent to laser and bending machine for diemaking. You will be sample making and drawing up from templates using a plotter as well as loading up files and wood for a moving head laser. There is a requirement for some physical activity for loading as sheets of wood are 2.5m across.
You will be liaising with diemakers on more complicated tools and the opportunity for some diemaking training is available. Finally, you will be working closely with the sales team to provide meterage and measurements for quotes.
Within the business there is also the opportunity to get involved in front of house tasks such as providing quotes, organising deliveries, ordering supplies, quality control and client communication.
You will be using 2D Arden software and our client is willing to offer training. You will not be required to use 3D capabilities.
Working hours
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
Friday: 07:30 – 14:30
Salary is dependant on the balance of front of house and manufacturing capabilities.
