Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist building cladding and roofing systems manufacturing company based in Reading. Due to on-going high demand we are assisting them in recruiting for an office based Technical Designer. You will be joining a small but experienced design team with plenty opportunity to grow and develop within the department with training and career opportunities.
Our client also has their own manufacturing facilities in North Wales and you will be working on projects from design through to thermal calculations and liaising with manufacturing teams. You will be expected to have existing experience within the cladding, facade sector but training will be given on the exact software they use on the calculations and manufacturing aspects.
For design, you will be using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. You will be using TRISCO for thermal calculations.
For this role, you will ideally have 5-10 years experience designing, detailing & drawing twin-skin/built-up metal roofing and cladding systems for the commercial market, along with aluminium rainscreen cladding systems. You will need to be able to understand the fundamental design principals of our clients proprietary roofing & cladding systems. You will be working from and maintaining an existing library of cladding systems and need to adapt the designs for each bespoke project. For this you will need an in-depth knowledge for designing & detailing different types of metals, including aluminium and steel. Finally, you will produce detailed fabrication drawings for factory production from customer drawings.
Working hours
Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 17:30 (or equivalent)
