Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with a Structural Waterproofing design and installation company based in Derby. Due to on-going high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting for a CAD Technician. For this role, you will be working in the design team undertaking work for technical sales and marketing departments.
This is a work from home role but you will ideally be located in the North West as the other members of the team are located here and for the purpose of occasional team meetings it would be helpful to be local.
You will be providing accurate and to scale detailed technical 2D and isometric drawings based on designs supplied by architects and designers and make modifications to existing drawings. You will then interrogate drawings to calculate quantities of materials required for the project and maintain accurate records of your work.
You will need knowledge of construction principles and have the ability to create and read construction related drawings. You will be working with AutoCAD to create mostly 2D drawings but any experience with building information modelling (BIM) and Revit would be advantageous but training can be given. Other experience with Microsoft Office is required too.
You will need a high level of attention to detail to create accurate and detailed drawings and be able to communicate clearly with the sales and marketing teams to explain concepts and drawings.
Finally, freehand drawing skills would be advantageous to the role too.
