Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a multi-disciplined bespoke joinery and furniture manufacturing company based in Dagenham, Essex. With onsite manufacturing facilities as well as the expertise and resources to consult with clients at the outset of a project, through design, construction, to interior furnishings and fitments.

There is currently a requirement for a permanent CAD Manager to oversee the four CAD Technician in the Design team. You will be expected to offer guidance and assistance to the design team as well as liaise with external contractors as well as shop floor staff.

The role will require you to have experience using Autodesk Inventor as well as AutoCAD, and Revit LT. The role will mostly be office based.

Duties include

  • Managing in house CAD draughts people
  • Managing Outside Contractors (Draughtsmen)
  • Attending weekly meeting with Directors assigning Works
  • Working with strict program dates to be upheld
  • Distributing work loads
  • Drawing approval checks, making sure all elements drawn are priced for and correct

Manufacturing

  • Check all drawings for buildability
  • Checking construction issue drawing
  • Checking the following for manufacture
  • CNC components
  • Cutting sheets
  • Laminate schedules
  • Veneer schedules
  • Glass schedules
  • Steel fabrication drawings

BIM

  • Working with BEP ensuring procedures are followed
  • Ensure you are working to the correct LOD
  • Produce 3D models from the onset if possible
  • Build 3D models from 2D construction issue drawings
  • Ensure BIM model complies with BEP and place item within BIM Model Provided
  • Working with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor & Revit LT
  • Produce BIM Model drawing issue sheets
  • (BEP is BIM Execution Plans)
