Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a design & build manufacturing company based in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Our client specialises in architectural metalwork including bespoke canopies and outdoor structures. Their typical projects range from £250,000 – £4m.

Due to ongoing high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting for a CAD Designer to join their well established design department. For this role you will be primarily focused on developing new and existing products as well as managing multiple bespoke design projects, mindful of commercial and program constraints.

You will ideally have previous experience using Autodesk Inventor as well as Vault in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience using AutoCAD would be advantageous however not essential.

On a daily basis, you will be designing new products to a pre agreed specification from the sales and project managers. You will be creating bespoke products and drawings to client’s requirements as outlined in the project brief taking into account budgets, timelines and fabrication capacity. This will include producing high quality fabrication drawings to allow for accurate fabrication and production of component parts.

You will ideally be qualified to degree/HND/HNC level in a design engineering specialism. Good working knowledge of fabrication/ welding and general manufacturing techniques is required as well as having the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be working closely with the sales and manufacturing teams so good communication skills to be able to liaise with other departments in a concise and efficient manner is essential.
