Job description

Our client is a leading UK based engineering firm designing and manufacturing solutions for the motoring industry around the world. To be considered for this position you will need to have experience with the following.

• Timed release of engineering parts, assemblies & drawings
• Establishment / creation of BoM’s
• Controlled introduction of engineering change
• Release of proven designs following successful test and development
• Release of designs which comply with all legal requirements & standards
• Ensure design is cost effective – designs to cost targets and vehicle specification requirements
• Support and co-ordinate design intent with management
• Ensure design is suitable for manufacture and assembly

Skills knowledge and experience

• Proven post academic qualification experience in chassis design or automotive experience
• Experience in 3D design package, ideally CATIA V5R 19
• Part modelling RHS, Angle, Sheetmetal and surface modelling, GRP, ABS parts
• Proficient in Smarteam PLM system
• Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• Able & willing to travel offsite to include occasional overnight stays and work outside core hours as required
