Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a design, manufacturer and supplier of roofing and ventilation systems. Their offices are located in Bassingbourn and due to ongoing high demand we are assisting them in recruiting for a CAD Designer with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks experience.

For this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all technical drawings are aligned with approved designs and meet all agreed production specifications. You will be using Autodesk Inventor daily, and be responsible for designing and dealing with a project from general assembly level right the way through to manufacture. You will create and convert customer drawings from 2D into 3D models for approval to clients. This will also involve creating a set of manufacture drawings suitable for the inhouse fabrication team.

Other tasks will see you creating technical datasheets for standard and bespoke products and updating existing 2D & 3D drawing in AutoCAD and Inventor to latest design and specifications.

As you will be working with standard and non-standard products, you will need to create installation drawings too. This will involve you following company design processes and ensuring the projects are always with-in the quoted specification.

You will be responsible for hitting the time frames allowed for the project and following client’s specifications for design portal uploads

For this role you will be required to have previous 3D design experience in the manufacturing sector using either Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks. 2D CAD experience using AutoCAD would also be highly beneficial.

You will also need strong technical, mechanical, and mathematical ability and knowledge of Microsoft Packages.

As you will be liaising with clients and other teams within the business, you will need to possess excellent communication skills. The role may require you to visit clients sites so a full UK driving licence will be required.
