Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a leading architectural metalwork company based near Bishop’s Stortford. Our client specialises in both the commercial and residential sectors and has inhouse design and production facilities.

Due to ongoing high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting a CAD Designer with previous experience using either Advance Steel or Tekla. For this role, you will be providing clients with recommendations on suitable architectural design considering factors such as building site, cost, and trend. You will be designing building plans and technical drawing using Advance Steel.

You will ideally have experience with designing for the architectural metalworks industry and experience of producing workshop ready drawings.

Your role will see you working from gathering and collecting design requirements from clients, architects or developers for new constructions, alterations, or repairs. You will then prepare architecture design based on design requirements and submit the designs through to management and clients for review and approval. Once approval has been received, you will need to provide construction, time, cost, machineries, and other specifications to management and assist other designers involved in preparing drawings.

You will be using Advance Steel to draft design drawings including 3D models. You will also modify, update and maintain designs based on review comments from management.

Finally, you will regularly participate in team meetings to coordinate design options and ideas.
