Job Description
There is a current requirement for an experienced designer to join their in house design team, taking instruction from design stage, architects drawings through to production handover to the workshop. You will be working alongside the production team and project managers to fulfil the brief.
Predominantly joinery based, projects vary from exhibition stands, creative builds to commercial and private kitchens and everything in between.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution of detailed joinery/ production drawings for workshop to exacting standards
- Research and Development
- Liaising with professional services where required
- Planning works alongside design manager
- Technical detailing & material specification
- Raising risk items with project team
- Ensuring design packs are compiled to given lead times
Key tasks
- Attending client and internal project meetings
- Preparation of O & M’s
- Attending project reviews
- Resource planning
- Drawing checks
- Supplier and site visits as required
- Production of designer RAMs
- Maintaining drawing registers
- Project filing and administration of projects
Preferred experience
- Experience of design detailing for joinery items
- Ideally experience of cabinet joinery working on the bench
- Excellent understanding of joinery manufacturing processes
- Excellent understanding of H & S responsibilities
- +5 years experience in similar position
- CNC production design experience
- Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks drawing package
- Vector works knowledge advantageous during transition to SolidWorks
- Excellent communication written and verbal
