Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a design & build construction company based in Reading. The specialise in food, drink and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the UK looking to build or expand their factory facilities.

Due to on-going high demand, we are assisting them in recruiting for a Senior CAD Technician. For this role you will produce clear and informative construction production drawings such as space Planning, Building Elevations, Building Plans, Electrical/Mechanical Layouts /Schematics, Fire Strategy, Building Location Site Plans.

You will need to work systematically to ensure completion of tasks to meet strict deadlines and fulfil clients’ expectations as well as being able to work cross functionally with the Estimating and Operations teams and able to communicate and explain technical information.

This role has the opportunity to develop into a management role, being responsible for the Design team, therefore you will need to have experience with people management, personal skills as well as high energy to keep the team up beat and motivated.

  • To work to specific requirements of a project and its design to transform ideas and concepts into detailed technical drawings.
  • Facilitate client design meetings, presenting high-level drawings that are functional, safe and compliant with Building Regs.
  • Coordinate packages and chair design team meetings.
  • Develop concept design into detailed design including detailed risk assessments.
  • Work with mechanical and electrical contractors to develop M&E design.
  • Take into consideration build costs when designing and look to value engineer where possible.

Working hours

39 hours per week.

Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 and Friday 8:00 – 16:00
