Job description

CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist roofing and cladding design and installation company based in Warrington.

Due to our clients steady growth there is an exciting opportunity for an additional full time, permanent CAD Designer to join the existing team.

For this role as a CAD Designer, you will help provide bespoke solutions to specific customer requests promptly and accurately. You will be working with 2D AutoCAD as well as Tekla BIMsight and SketchUp to create bespoke GA drawings for rain screen cladding, flat and pitched roofing.

Key Accountabilities

  • As a CAD Designer you will create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and steelwork fabricators
  • Liaise with architects and clients to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to construction teams
  • Ensure drawings are compliant with appropriate regulations and building standards
  • Apply knowledge of materials and design principles to check feasibility of fabrication and construction of the product
  • Conduct site visits and surveys when required
  • Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, manufacture/construction and installation
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with both architects and clients to resolve design queries
  • Ensure that drawing approvals are met within the project deadlines
  • Identify potential problems and create solutions
  • Any other duties as required by the Drawing Office Manager and otherCAD Designer

Person Specification

  • AutoCAD experience and familiar with dynamic blocks
  • Understanding of construction methods and fabrication processes
  • General construction knowledge in terms of drafting or practical experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Forward thinking
  • Full driving licence
  • Proven ability in problem solving
