Our client is a leading supplier of thermoformed plastic packaging to the food industry in the UK & Europe. They have a clear business strategy with the focus on growth, teamwork and is passionate about our high quality products. Our client is a major manufacturer of recycled PET food packing and one of the industry leaders in the use of recycled materials.

We are happy to announce we have been appointed to recruit for a Designer Machinist. The position will be working from their head offices in Haddenham, Cambridgeshire.

You will be reporting to the Development Manager. The purpose of the role is to complete New Product Development projects which meet our customer briefs and our manufacturing requirements, to include their existing ranges.

The role will include drawing product specs, data entry to company systems and liaising with management and clients.

You will be required to produce prototypes and moulds using CAD/CAM software to generate and verify tool paths, post process for the relevant machine tool and run.  It is therefore essential you have excellent working knowledge of relevant CAD/CAM systems and machine tools.

The ideal candidate should have at least 12 months experience of a similar design and manufacturing role along with an eye for detail, adaptability and experience of a manufacturing environment are desirable.  You will need to be able to understand and communicate effectively with other employees. You should also have good IT skills and accurate data entry.
