Job description

Established over 60 years ago, our client designs and installs telecommunications systems and equipment on Crossrail, London Underground and Network Rail stations. Recently they have also started to make in-roads into M&E design and install work.

Our client has their head office in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and an office in Kings Cross, London. Due to a large contract on Crossrail won by our client, they have need for a CAD Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be based in the Kings Cross office, but initially working in their client’s office in Ealing Broadway.

You will be primarily be working on the Crossrail contract with a junior member of staff. Towards the end of the contract, you will then be given a wider role and get involved with CAD (and eventually BIM) for our various other projects.

You will be required to work closely with both telecoms and electrical engineers to produce layout drawings, schematics, elevations, fixing details and similar using MicroStation on ProjectWise.

Ideally you will have an engineering degree and 2/3 years working experience, but our client is flexible on this for the right candidate. Knowledge and previous experience of both Bentley MicroStation and Bentley ProjectWise is a must however, and prior work with Crossrail is a bonus.

Software experience on AutoCAD, Amtech & Dialux, and technical experience in E&P, MEP, SISS & Operational Telecoms are all desirable but not required.

The position has a salary of £30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience.
