Job description
CADagency is delighted to be working with an engineering and fabrication company that specialise in building access equipment. The companies products include fixed vertical ladders, access stairs, roof walkways and access gantries. As well as manufacturing bespoke products they also have a range of standard designs that can be quickly produced to customer dimensions.
Due to ongoing high demand they are looking to take on a SolidWorks Design with a background in Mechanical Engineering to help produce manufacturing drawings based on customers requirements. You will be working closely with clients from initial design briefs through to producing final technical drawings for the manufacturing team. You will also regularly help to improve existing products and work on bespoke engineering challenges.
You need to be creative and able to come up with innovative solution to customer enquiries. You will be based at the companies Ipswich office on a permanent basis.
You will be experienced with SolidWorks in a manufacturing environment and be using the software for modelling, Weldments through to simulation. You will also be overseeing the remodeling of all the companies standard products, including the automation of the model to facilitate easy adjustment to customer requirements. Due to the workload, you will be required to have experience with the design of metal fabrications and conversant with structural metal calculations. This would include the correct selection of member size and connection details.
