This role involves working as a CAD Technician within our clients Design and CAD Studio. The team provides the company with technical support and works closely with our clients Urban Design and Planning staff.
The role principally involves the production of 3D solid AutoCAD models for daylight and sunlight assessment, and the analysis of these models within the AutoCAD environment using bolt-on software (Waldram Tools, MBS Software).
The chosen candidate will hold a recognised qualification in AutoCAD and/or have at least three years’ experience in a technical CAD based role. Experience working in the field of daylight and sunlight analysis would be advantageous but is not essential providing 3D CAD capabilities are exceptional.
Experience with other software packages would also be advantageous. These include: Sketchup, Revit, 3D Studio Max, Adobe CC (IL, ID & PS especially) and Microsoft Office.
The CAD Technician will have an interest in the built environment and will be expected to demonstrate good spatial understanding and numeracy skills. Knowledge of the modelling process, and the ability to read and convert architectural plans, elevations and sections into an accurate geolocated model are essential as the candidate must be able to hit the ground running.
The CAD Technician must be a team player who is consistently able to carry out professional work of a high standard with limited supervision. They should also be experienced and competent dealing directly with clients and co-consultants.
The role offers an opportunity to progress to a more senior level and to help build our growing daylight and sunlight team.
